The spherical roller bearing has two curved raceways. Its outer ring's raceway is spherical. The bearing's center coincides with its outer ring's center of curvature, so it has the self-aligning function. The allowable aligning angle ranges from 1° to 2.5°. It is especially suitable for scenarios where the rotating shaft has the possibility of inclination or flexible deformation. In addition, it can bear a certain axial load, and however, it cannot bear only axial load. The contact line between the spherical roller bearing's roller generatrix and raceway is long, so its friction moment is relatively high. Therefore, its limiting speed is far lower than that of a cylindrical roller bearing. This kind of bearing has two optional types: C – w/ stamped cage, inner ring without ribs, and one movable retainer ring; CA – solid brass cage. The spherical roller bearing is mainly used for scenarios where there is low speed and heavy load, the rotating shaft may deflect or incline, or the rotating shaft has a permanent inclination.
